One day, Betty Waterpin and her very special friend, Melly Wander, were sat on their comfy settee staring out of the window and at the night sky.

“I’ve seen this before.” said Melly.

“So have I,” said Betty, “we need curtains.”

“But we have nothing to put the curtains on.” said Melly.

“Then we need a curtain pole!” exclaimed Betty.

Betty and Melly measured their window. It was 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep. It was a Square, Imperial Window.
